This is a great reading fluency activity!
Promotes fluency: Each student is invited to record the audio version of select text portions that are appropriate to his or her fluency level.
Promotes autonomy: There are navigation buttons on each page.
Promotes non-fiction reading strategies: There are links from the words that are listed in the glossary as they appear in the text. Each section is linked from the table of contents.
Make any book or original work into an immersive interactive experience that can be shared with others to enjoy again and again!
Below, you will find two examples:
- Terremotos, a short video clip demonstrates audio and nonfiction text feature interactivity as the reader navigates through the interactive book and gathers information or simply delights in hearing the text read by a variety of voices.
- Weather, a pdf downloadable version that, by simply clicking on the interactive portions, allows the reader to practice nonfiction text features such as the table of contents and the highlighted words linked to the glossary. The audio samples for the cover and cover page are not activated in this pdf version.
